I'm interested in either starting or joining a group to play small press or indie RPGs.

Some Games I'm familiar with and like to play:
Dogs in the Vineyard
In a Wicked Age
Prime Time Adventures
The Shab Al-Hiri Roach
The Mountain Witch

Some Games I'd be interested in learning:
Trail of Cthulhu / GUMSHOE
Cold City
Burning Wheel/Burning Empires/MouseGuard
Diaspora
Polaris
Etc..

My thought was that we could try out different games on a rotating basis; the players could take turns choosing and running a game every few sessions or so. That way we'd get to try out a bunch of different games.

Anyone interested?

Absolutely. I just recently got into indie games, and there are a ton I'd like to try. Josh K. has been running some small press/indie one-shots as well, but it would be cool to get something going on a semi-regular basis. Monday or Tuesday evenings are best for me.

I'd be interested, too. I played Mouse Guard for the first time with a Josh, Ben and a couple other people a couple weeks ago. I wouldn't mind playing that again, or running it. I've also run In a Wicked Age a couple times, and would like to run it again, or play. And I've got a pile of games I haven't tried yet: 3:16, Roach, DitV, Don't Rest Your Head, Spirit of the Century, Sorcerer, etc. Weekday evenings are better for me for a regular thing; weekends tend to get filled up with other stuff (I keep trying to convince my partner he should get into RPGs, but he just...won't...listen!).

I like playing at Chicagoland Games, since it's easy for me to get to after work, but I'm flexible.

Welcome!

I'd love to get together a regularly scheduled indie gaming group together. Creating a group with rotating GMs would be great. I might actually have some information about making this happen within the next week, so keep an eye out.

You should come out to one of my RPG sessions on the 21st or 28th. I'm also hoping to post about my March games in the next week or so. Stick around and stay tuned, there's plenty of stuff going on here that I think will be right up your alley.

In the mean time check out http://www.chicagolan... both on line and in real life. The website is a great place to plan, talk, and read on indie RPGs. The store has great people, plenty of space to play, and a great selection in stock (I think there are only two, maybe three, physical stores that sell Vincent Baker's books; this is one of them).

Sounds good, guys! Josh, if you have something like this in the works already, that's great. Let us know further details as events warrant. :)

Mondays or Tuesdays are probably best for me. I'm up for pretty much any time in the evening after 6:00. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays would be the worst days for me.

I recently played a D&D game at Chicagoland Games recently, and it does seem like a good place to meet (as well as being a cool place in general). They do have that RPGA thing on Mondays, though, so maybe Tuesday would be better if we were to meet there?

Ok, here's the deal. Tuesday is sort of indie RPG night at Dice Dojo. I say sort of because, unfortunately, not all of the events will have open to the public seats. To start with, I will be organizing games every other week. Most of these will have open/public seats.

Currently, one GM is doing a campaign on alternating Tuesdays that will last for about 2-3 more months. On the days he is not running games I will be scheduling games. Tentatively, our own Joe Beason will being running "In A Wicked Age" on 2/23 and I will be running Don't Rest Your Head on 3/16. There might be 1 or 2 more games available in March, but expect them to be announced with short notice.

In the April/May, I plan on continuing to organize various one shots. When the other GM's current campaign ends, I might create a ~6 session mini-campaign on alternating Tuesdays. The other Tuesdays will be one-shots ran by other people.

If you want to run a game, talk to me, but please, come out and play in a session before asking to organize your own game.

Thoughts?

Thanks for organizing all this, Josh.

Yes, I am definitely running In A Wicked Age on Tuesday, Feb 23, at 7:00, shooting for 3-4 players. Josh, I'll post something to the Dice Dojo forum tonight or tomorrow, and write up a little blurb for you to post here.
