I enjoy trying different RPG's and seeing what other systems are out there. I am interested in learning the 4.0 D&D rules firsthand by playing in a game.
I play D&D exclusively, editions OA to 3.5.
Yes, I have DMed D&D games before.
Sat/Sun times generally, weeknights while I am not working.
I will take the Addison bus to Wrigley Field and just walk the rest of the way S on Clark. Parking is too difficult around there.

"I would be interested in you can get a game going at Games Plus in downtown Mt Prospect...."
"Hello, I am planning to start a new 3.5 D&D group for Sundays and looking for players and a location. Game times would be Sunday afternoons to early eve, 12 Noon to 7 or 8pm. ... MoreCharacters would start off at 1st level in a home-brew campaign using only the 3.5 D&D Core rules for simplicity and streamlined game-play. Potential players would need their own copy of the 3.5 D&D Players Handbook, D&D dice and pencil/paper. I can give you the 3.5 D&D core Rules in Acrobat PDF form if you want them. I do have a dedicated game location for the weekends though it's in Berwyn by Harlem/Ogden so people might not want to travel that far. Therefore, we would need a dedicated location which is convenient to play on a regular basis. Games Plus in Mt Prospect is a possibility though they are busy with many events and activities of their own on the weekend which would take priority to use any tables reserved by us. Lots of gaming retail stores have closed in recent years so those people have overflowed to Games Plus thusly not leaving much time and space for private groups. Looking forward to hear from any interested players who can either reply to this post or email me directly. Thx JOE K (the DM) EMAIL: [masked] CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW CAMPAIGN: SWORDQUEST - Earthworld BACKGROUND: Journey into a lost world during a time of darkness, chaos and impending doom where all civilized races are threatened with war and devastation from a merciless enemy. For many years, both Tyrannus, Emperor of the evil Drakkar and Konjuro, Witch-king of the Blood Orcs, have attempted numerous unsuccessful invasions of the mainland but were consistently repelled by the brave and stalwart defenders of Brigandsport, Jovian Delta, Spider Isle, Crab Isle and Jovian Falls. But now, under the guidance and aid of the forgotten dark magicks of the long thought extinct Skeksis, they have formed an uneasy alliance and with their combined strength, they plot their grand invasion to sweep Mamaryl and the surrounding islands. Only the brave and noble efforts of a band of unlikely heroes, drawn together by fate and circumstance in pursuit of fulfilling an ancient prophecy, can offer a glimmer of hope to turn the tide of battle for the forces of Good and prevent a wide scale conflict that would invariably destroy them all. OBJECTIVE: An unlikely band of heroes must recover the fabled Sign of the Zodiac from the forces of darkness. At that point, they will undertake a grand quest where they will travel to different points all across the continent of Mamaryl to locate, confront and defeat each of the 12 constellations of the Zodiac. Thus doing so will grant them access to Earthworld where the two artifacts of Creation, the Sword of Ultimate Sorcery and the Talisman of Penultimate Truth, are hidden which they will need against the combined forces of Tyrannus and Konjuro in an epic battle that will determine the fate of the known world. SOURCE: Campaign material has been taken from many sources: Campaign setting taken from The Dark Folk, an obscure AD&D 1st ed setting written by Paul Karczag. Heavy source material from Project Aon site and The World of Lone Wolf series and The World of Magnamund by Joe Dever and Gary Chalk. Other source elements include old classic sci-fi and fantasy movies like The Dark Crystal, The Sword & The Sorcerer and Dragonslayer and comic books such as Atari Age. MAGIC: Below average magic world. Many civilized areas are low to no magic. Magic is viewed with great fear and superstition and consider the works of the evil Gods and thus is outlawed in most civilized societies. Spellcasters are persecuted in quite a few lands as well. TECHNOLOGY: Late Renaissance in civilized areas, Iron Age or Stone Age in unsettled areas. There are firearms. FEATS: 33 pages of new feats including new general, metamagic and class specific feats. Gain new character feats at every even level (1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 etc) instead of the old every 3 levels. Fighters gain both character and fighter feats in the same manner. RACES: 10 new races including half-ogres, orcs and gelfling. CLASSES: 12 new classes including witches, bio-mancers and chemical mages. NEW ARMOR & WEAPONS: More unique and exotic armors and weapons including elven leafweave armors, full blades, dwarven warpikes, elven thinblades and footbows. There are even Combat Drugs that enhance stats and abilities for combat and other situations. RELIGION: 12 pages of new religions, Gods, domains and specialty clerics including the new Elementalist priests. DIFFERENT ITEM ATTRIBUTES: Armor, weapons and items can have different magical attributes such as race or alignment restricted, stat and skill enhancements, spell point replenishment, enfeebling, weakening and many others. START AT: 1st level STAT CREATION METHOD: High powered campaign. 32 point buy or 4d6 per stat with DM gambling option. RULESET: 3.5 D&D Core Rules only used, NO supplements or additions allowed.
